General Manager

Peninsula Iron Works has a long history of offering a wide range of equipment and services, including crusher, feeder & conveyor rebuilds. Our products are used in a variety of industries, including mining, power generation, cement, pulp and paper. The business is part of a larger organization called Terrasource Global headquartered in St. Louis Missouri, an OEM manufacturer of Gundlach, Jeffrey Rader, Pennsylvania Crusher, and Elgin Separation Solutions brands. The business is further supported by a worldwide manufacturing and supply chain base.

POSITION SUMMARY

The General Manager is a key member of the PIW/TerraSource leadership team with accountability for directing all plant activities related to performance and profitability for the Portland, OR location. This position will also have responsibility for managing and focusing on measures associated with safety, quality, cost, productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee production of the Portland location that meets short-term and long-term business plans.
  • Maintain the plant's profitability and ensure all safety and quality requirements are met.
  • Develop and implement business plans that align with company goals and overall strategic vision.
  • Responsible for strategic coordination of planning, scheduling, shipping, receiving, and inventory management to meet customer demands.
  • Build a high performing team and work collaboratively to drive change initiatives within the organization.
  • Drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives tied to the strategic business direction.
  • Build partnerships with your Corporate Sales Managers to identify Business Unit growth opportunities.
  • Adept at client interface, building confidence, and trust.
  • Data-driven leader managing KPIs and tight delivery schedules.
  • Trusted leader who can join the team and provide clear and timely communications to leadership, customers, and direct reports.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering.
  • 7+ years of progressive management
  • 7+ years of Manufacturing/Operations experience with the Ability to be accept, nurture and grow the PIW/TSG culture.
  • Proven track record of goal setting, achievement, and demonstrated ability to build, lead, and motivate diverse teams.
  • Ability to initiate projects in pursuit of greater profitability, anticipate potential problems and address them early.
  • Ability to make decisions that are balanced and inclusive of the team's input. (its about the team!)
  • Ability to present and influence views in a clear and compelling manner at both technical and leadership levels.
  • Ability to facilitate development of others' knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of capital management (P&L and capital budgets) and analyzing financial data
  • Must possess excellent strategic planning and analytical skills.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing demands, processes and updated information.
  • Communicate effectively with the ability to adjust communication style based on audience.

Travel: Occasional, less than 10%
